Computer Glitches This Week and Storytelling Next Week
During a thunderstorm on Friday evening, I had just finished my weekly bookkeeping and had tucked $70 in birthday gift monies into my wallet, when blink! - the lights flicked, and —- the computer went dead. Oh no! I pressed the power button several times, but no go.
The next morning I took it to the city and had a new power box put into the computer. Can you guess what it cost me? Uh-huh! $74.02! Good thing I’d just had a birthday, eh? (Or do you suppose the unseen Thief snatched it away in glee?)
Sasktel, our telephone company and my ISP is generally very good with nearly perfect up-time, but yesterday afternoon the connection kept breaking, even on high speed. If you emailed me, and ran into a brick wall, that is to say, it bounced back undeliverable, or you got some strange error message, feel free to try again today.
I should add that I am even more seriously discouraging the sending of those “inspirational Forwards.” Most of them I have seen before, and though I thought I was safe from viruses now in my Linux system, I had one such email crash my computer this week. I’ve decided that I really don’t need or want to see them any more. Thanks, but no thanks. Just send me a personal email. Write something original in your own words.
A lot of pages on the Ruthes-SecretRoses.com site have my current summer photo now, the one with the big hat. I’m still working my way through some of the pages done earlier without the includes file.
I’m going to be telling the 5-day serial missionary story at Vacation Bible School (VBS) next week. The life of Amy Carmichael, the Irish woman who went to India, and rescued many children from being temple prostitutes, is going to be my theme. I may be a bit short on time for this RoseBouquet, but if I do get an issue written it is likely to be about VBS kids, and the story.
