Learning About Linux
In case you are curious about Linux I’d like to drop a few helpful hints. There are probably over 300 different distributions (known as Distros) of this operating system kernel.
A linux system can be set up to run on your computer instead of your Windows 95, 98, or XP, or Vista, etc. It can also be installed on the free space of your hard drive to run alongside of your Windows system. (When you boot up, you just have to choose which one you want to enter this time).
Linux systems are free if you download and burn your own iso CDs or DVDs, but if you find that too tricky, you can buy them for just a few dollars. Or if you have friends you might even get them free.
DistroWatch.com is a good place to read reviews and find links to more info on each one.

Oh there’s much more to say, but I don’t want to overwhelm you.
My favourite so far is openSUSE, but I’m trying out a bunch of new ones these days. Right now I like Feather, and Puppy, and dear ol’ Mandrake came to my rescue today too. I usually share my Linux Learning Curve experiences on my blog by that name, Linux Learning Curve.
