A Better Office Chair
I need a better office chair. I don’t really have time to go shopping around for one, but this was a bothersome problem. The larger chair I’ve had for some 6-8 years, became uncomfortable, tilts to the left, and then one day a bolt started to stick up and press into my left thigh.
Well, I’d bought this other smaller chair at Value Village a few weeks ago, and it is the right size, but also has a problem. The seat slopes forward, so I gradually find myself sliding off of it. I used that a number of weeks, but it was beginning to bother me more and more.
Then last weekend I took a look at the one I had provided at the desk where Linda always sits when she comes to work here, helping with the book project. It was a chair I had bought at a yard sale nearby when I first moved into this house. But I hadn’t sat in it for quite a while.
Hey! That’s a lot better! A good fit, and no sliding off, or bolt-pinching. Ultimately I should buy a good chair so we can both be comfortable at the same time, but for now, I use this yard-sale chair until Linda comes, then I tolerate one of the other chairs until she is gone.
What’s more, now I have a better idea of what kind of chair I really need and want.
I bet there are times you solve a problem that way too, right? At least, for now.
