Avoid Paying Ransom for Your Computer Files
How to avoid paying ransom for your computer if it is hacked; First of all, if you have a Windows operating system, update it as often as Microsoft provides you the security patches. (A Windows perating system is eg. Windows 10, Windows 7, etc.)
If you have a Windows XP – for which Microsoft no longer creates patches – you are best to keep it OFFLINE. Use it as a glorified typewriter only. No internet uses at all!
Or, you could be bold and daring! Research the Linux Systems, which are generally much more secure, so that users do not even need virus protection software.
Though I am reading now that it is not impossible to hit a linux file system, so we all need to be on our guard.
I have an openSUSE (linux) system, and since it is going obsolete too, I’m planning to install the newest system, LEAP – hopefully this next weekend.
