Book Binding is a Cinch

Do you enjoy unique hand-made books or booklets? I really have fun making them, and have been grateful that my sister Elsie left me her cerlox binding machines. But last night while following a link for something else in an incoming email, I was on Youtube and saw some videos on a new little gadget called the Cinch, by We R Memory Keepers. It can punch holes and insert rings, and the demo people were showing how to use this with making little handmade books.

Wow! I can see so many creative uses for this! This would be a real break from my “work” days, for I would feel like I was doing all kinds of artistic “playing” if I had one of these Cinch machines. Things like blank journals, calendars, photo albums, Memory books, oh… the possibilities!

This gadget seems to be hot among scrapbookers, and I’m a little afraid of getting into that hobby in a big way, as I hear the supplies you buy can keep you broke. But since I know a little about book binding with the heavy-duty metal machines my sister gave me, I know I could be creative with the things I find around the house.

Anyway, here I’m raving about what I would do with this; I meant to introduce it to YOU, in case you would enjoy this too. It seems to be mostly in the USA, but you can order it from amazon.ca or even ebay.ca when they haven’t run out of it.

Maybe! If we wait a while, those who buy such gadgets and then give up on them and sell them off as second-hand (see, they are not as tenacious as you or me) – that’s when we can get them at a much better price.

So here’s my tip, go ahead and get one for yourself, and try it out. If you give up, feel free to hand it down to me. 🙂 I love you already, but I’ll love you more if you do that!
