Rushing into Christmas Preparations

Filed under: Tips & Solutions — Ruth @ 11:35 am

First of all, I want to wish all my dear American friends a very Happy and Grateful Thanksgiving for day after tomorrow. I understand that the next day triggers a stampede to shop and get ready for Christmas.

I’ve been slipping in time to make some tabletop Christmas trees for decor. It is fun of course, but I tell myself I have a very good, practical reason. We need a Christmas craft to put on the Kids Korner of the WTM site. So last week Wednesday, my trainee/helper and I made up a batch from my embossed wall papers sample book. I dressed them up a bit more over lunch hour bits of time, and now have oh - 15 that i can see if I spin around in my chair. We took photos of the steps, and I hope I can soon get the craft page with step-by-step instructions and photos of my models ready to upload. (A lot depends on how tomorrow goes).

Meantime it occurred to me this morning that I should be telling all my friends and readers about the Christmas helps I have on my newest website for you.

www.online-shopping-guides.com is all about showing you how simple and safe it can be to do your shopping online.

If you have never tried it before you might want to start with the easiest 7 steps; how to shop online

But there are a number of helpful pages for you to review on that site.

Also, if you are in charge of getting out the company Christmas cards for your business or employer, I’ve got some great tips on this unique page; Business Christmas Cards.

My Novel as a Gift Idea

Filed under: Tips & Solutions — Ruth @ 1:15 pm

Over lunch on Saturday some visitors who came to present special music were asking about my business, and I mentioned my novel. I ended up running upstairs to fetch the two copies I keep on hand for such situations. Do you know - as soon as they and another woman had the book in their hands, they wanted to buy it? Yes, and not only that, but they overpaid and told me to keep the change!

Right now is a good time to order a book, get it read yourself, and then give it as a gift to someone else. (Of course, it’s okay to do that! Lots of us do it all the time).

cover of Ruthe's Secret Roses - by Ruth Marlene Friesen
My stash of real, paperback copies of the novel is dwindling. I may have to order some more real soon. But if you are not living close to me you might be far wiser to go order it directly online from my publisher. Booklocker promises that any book you order will be on it’s way to you in 48 hours. In the USA that is by UPS, so delivery is quick from Booklocker

I have to charge people $25 to cover my shipping costs, but the price online at Booklocker is just $19.95 plus shipping, so you might get it for less if money is tight for you.

Now, if I was you, I’d want to read more about the book first of all and see if it is what I’d want. So go here, to read up on Ruthe’s Secret Roses

Oh, and I sell the e-book edition on my site for less than Booklocker.
See, I’m helping you to get the BEST deal on this. Only the reading of the book should take you some time, as it is 647 pages. :)

How to Get an Energy Punch to Pick You Up

Filed under: Tips & Solutions — Ruth @ 11:19 am

Just week before last I told you about these healthy coffees, teas, and hot chocolate that I have signed up to sell. Well, my basic order arrived, and I meant to save the packets for when I might have a chance to sell by offering a sample, or perhaps as Christmas gifts. But on Saturday my physical work around the house made me so crippled with pain that I was hobbling around, stooped like an old woman.

After a light supper snack, I sat down to read for a while in an herbal remedies book, and I saw them suggest supplements that I was sure I was already taking. Then it hit me - no, I ran out about a week ago, and I haven’t been taking them this week.

I had a bottle of the joint health capsules in a backup box, so I got it out and took two, knowing that it often takes two weeks for these to kick in and give you the full benefit.

Then I remembered the SereniGy drink packets. Ah-ha, I could allow myself a hot chocolate! I mixed it up in a tall mug, which holds about 2 cups worth. And in half an hour my pain was gone! My achy lower back and knot in my left hip - all gone.

I was able to go downstairs and clean up my laundry, and then put in a full evening for the client in Uganda on the computer. I felt great all day Sunday too. And allowed myself a nice healing nap as well.

It’s safe to say I have a new respect for this SereniGy stuff! That Ganoderma herb in there really does pack a strong energy punch! Did you have a look at it yet? www.SereniGy.com/Bouquet

You might just want that in your daily coffee or tea! There’s even drops to add to your plain water, if you’d rather do that.

People do a 180 on this Video

Filed under: Tips & Solutions — Ruth @ 10:55 am

You can also see it at the original site, http://HeartChanger.com. It’s 33 minutes long and it is fascinating to watch the interviewer, Ray Comfort, talk to people on the street, and bring some of them to a complete 180 degree turn in their thinking, starting with questions about the Holocaust, and then applying those principles to abortion and life issues.

Coffee, Tea and Hot Chocolate That’s Good for You

Filed under: Tips & Solutions — Ruth @ 1:38 pm

I’m not a coffee-drinker, but my friend Kathy gave me a packet of the hot chocolate from this company she has joined. I am partial to hot chocolate; it tasted quite good, and did give extra energy as she said. It has taken me a while to get around to researching this company, but finally, today I did.

SereniGy puts a mushroom/herb into their products that is known all over Asia for its energy-giving and healing properties. It’s most common name is Ganoderma. My third party (outside of this company) research shows that some people seem to have an allergy to this ingredient, however, the vast majority who try it rave about the benefits they enjoy from drinking this SereniGy coffee/tea/chocolate.

So I’ve ordered some samples that I can give away (hey, Christmas is only two months away as of today!), and I can refer people to my replicated website and - well, I’ll just see whether this can also be an income stream for me. www.SereniGy.com/Bouquet

I don’t want to tell you what you must do, but it looks like a good idea, and you should check it out for yourself. I think I made my final decision when I saw the

video about the orphanage in Kenya this company supports.

What do you pay if you buy fine coffee in a restaurant or Starbucks? Remember, I don’t drink coffee, so I don’t know. I think I’ve heard $5/cup - is that true? Well, it seems these work out to under $1 or $2 a packet or cup.

So if it should happen that you like the flavour, and have no reaction to the Ganoderma, it might be smart to switch, right?

If you don’t want to be a distributor, you can just sign up as preferred customer. (I’m just not sure it is available outside of North America). www.SereniGy.com/Bouquet

Comparing Windows vs. Linux - Finding Help

Filed under: Tips & Solutions — Ruth @ 11:33 am

Linux and Microsoft Windows differ in philosophy, cost, versatility
and stability. You pay for Windows systems and programs, except
for Shareware, (which you are suppose to buy once you have tried
it out). Bill Gates has set up with computer factories to install a
Windows system by default. He also pays a large number of techies
to keep designing Windows to be better.

Steve Jobs of Apple, who died last week, did the same thing, but Mac
folks work with a similar UNIX base as the Linux people, except we
don’t have any one person making heaps of money. The man who
invented the linux kernel attached a license which says that you have
to allow others access to the core kernel and anyone can do what
they want to improve it. No one can get possessive.

You may only be familiar with Windows, like the majority of the world.
Though I don’t want to tell you what to put on your computer, I’m can
inform you that Linux is catching up fast. :)

If you download and install it yourself, Linux is free,
It is much more secure and we laugh at malware that plagues Windows.
The 14 fastest supercomputers in the world run on Linux.
At installation the linux system intuitively recognizes most hardware,
no CDs for drivers are needed. (great improvement in last 10 years).
A linux installation can be customized for each user on the computer.

If You Wish You Prayed More Often

cover of Ruthe's Secret Roses - by Ruth Marlene Friesen

I’ve just had a friend drop by for a visit, which turned out to be quite pleasant. From the things she shared I knew she’d love my novel, so I showed it to her. (I always keep one copy on hand at the office for situations like this). Next thing I know she’s buying it! Wonderful!

I think she will actually keep her promise to let me know what she thinks of it, so that I’ll have another clue as to how to slant my advertising for it.

This reminds me to mention this again, in case you don’t read the lines below anymore that are always there in the ezine edition.

How would you like to read my novel, Ruthe’s Secret Roses, and tell me what you think of it? Or, if you are one of those friends who ordered it but has yet to get around to reading it, bring it up to the top of your reading pile.

What would the book do for you, you ask?

Strictly from my own perspective, it shows you what it is like to be a girl who has running conversations with God as she steps out of her comfort zone to help someone else. She makes new friends and mentors them, and gradually learns to apply her good advice to her own life. Ruthe is based on my own character and interests, but I have not had exactly those experiences. You will find a lot of me in her though. :)

To Attract New Reps and Distributors

Filed under: Tips & Solutions — Ruth @ 11:48 am

Are you in a networking kind of business, where you are suppose to recruit new reps and distributors to sign up under you? It may have sounded easy when you were recruited, but it turns out to be hard work, doesn’t it? You are not the first to discover that!

Mike Dillard did too, and had to subsist as a waiter, and eating mac n’ cheese in an apartment without furnishings. Until he figured out how to do it painlessly. Now he shows you with his videos and material how to attract NEW Reps and Distributors who are often ready to pay you for the chance to talk to you and learn what you want them to sign up for.

I recommend however, that you don’t use your main ‘good’ email address to sign up for this. You will soon get a lot more emails - more than you may want to handle! Set up a separate one first.

Read my Novel Before I Get Famous

Filed under: Tips & Solutions — Ruth @ 11:02 am

My poor neglected novel, Ruthe’s Secret Roses, (which got me online in the first place) gets a backseat in all my busy life right now. But it is still available both from Booklocker.com and from my own website. And a time will come when I can really promote it, and write the sequels that ride

cover of Ruthe's Secret Roses - by Ruth Marlene Friesen
It’s about the kind of friend that I’ve always dreamed I’d be. Very busy with making friends and helping those she has already met. I couldn’t do all of that now in my current life, but I’m glad I wrote it. It does have a good, encouraging message to those who wish they had a close friend who would drop everything to come to their rescue.

Right at the beginning, Ruthe, my heroine of my novel, dashes away from her own high school grad when her new friend Muriel calls. Do you pine for a loyal, caring friend like that?

If so, you should buy and READ Ruthe’s Secret Roses.
