Happy Independence Day

I’m wishing a Happy Independence Day to all my American friends! In my heart I’m with you today, for I listen to BBNradio.org all day long at the computer, and it is celebrating with lots of godly and patriotic songs, and dramas. I think it is lovely that there is such a godly overtone to all this celebration. Our Canada Day celebrations sounded quite secular on the CBC radio on Saturday. I didn’t listen to much of that.

Good thing we can put a godly tone to a holiday in our own hearts, right? We don’t have to wait for others to bring it to us from outside of us.

Last week was a week of rain showers almost daily. This week the summer heat is upon us. Of course, this makes for a very happy and growing garden. I need to start having more green salads as I have plenty of lettuce, spinach, green onions, etc. I still try to give an hour to my garden after supper every day – unless it is raining. Slowly but surely, I’ve got more flowers sown into various corners. A couple of flowerbeds in the front have room for more, but it looks like I should take a few days for weeding first.

Only 3 carrots have come up, and 2 beets, but I should have a healthy harvest of yellow watermelons, cucumbers, zucchini, swiss chard, beans, and tomatoes.
