The Book … But the Berries are Calling Me!
You may remember that my main focus project is to get that history book finished. But the berries are calling me!
I had some delays with the second last section, but that was because I realized that there was some extra information I could add, which would improve the book. So I took time for that.
However, I’m happy to say that I began on the last section on Saturday night, and made progress last night, so I’m hoping I can keep this up and have this section finished, or just about by Friday of next week. That is when my second cataract surgery takes place, and I am a little nervous that I’ll find it hard to work with stuff on the computer screen. Both my eyes will see well far away, but not close up.
I’m still planning to add a timeline and an alphabetical index of all the people who have worked for the mission in the past, with a small icon photo and a short blurb about each one. I already have about 200 people worked into the history, but such an appendix might be useful to those who need to look for themselves or a loved one.
Now, I have been invited to go pick Nanking cherries at a friend’s yard over the coming weekend. I find myself drawn to that, even though I feel I should be sacrificing more personal time for the history book. – Does it show that I was raised in a family where harvesting fruit was considered a treat to be snapped up whenever an opporunity presented? 🙂
I hear the Saskatoon berries are ripe now, and that is a temptation too, but picking and putting them is another time-consuming project that I think I better ignore. (Sigh!)
